Victoria Beckham first rose to fame as a member of the Spice Girls
musical group. However, in the years since she was “Posh Spice,” Beckham
has grown even more prominent in the spotlight. Her marriage to star
soccer player David Beckham makes her one of the most well-known
celebrity wives. Plus, her commitment to style has earned her worldwide
acclaim. In addition to always sporting the latest fashions and
hairstyles, Beckham has also been admired for her unique body art
designs.
Perhaps Victoria Beckham’s most well known tattoo is the one located
along the back of her neck. It features a string of Hebrew letters
written down her spine. Although relatively few people can read these
letters, they are actually an excerpt from the spiritual text “The Song
of Solomon.” The piece Beckham selected for her tattoo can be translated
as “I am my love’s and my love is mine.” The tattoo was designed in 2007
to commemorate Beckham’s sixth anniversary with her husband. In fact,
David Beckham had the same line of Hebrew printed on his forearm to
match.
Another of her tattoos features five stars on the base of her spine,
just above her tailbone. Rather than traditional five-pointed shapes,
the stars in this artwork are actually eight-pointed bursts. These
symbols have deeper meaning to Beckham, who explained that each star
represented a member of her family. There were two for her husband and
herself, and another three for their children, Brooklyn, Romeo, and
Cruz.
Beckham also has tattoos on both of her wrists. On her left are the
script initials “DB,” which recognize her love and affection for her
husband David Beckham. Opposite this tattoo are a line of roman numerals
printed on the star’s right wrist. The numbers symbolize the date May 8,
1997. This is allegedly the anniversary of the first time she and David
made love. The latest addition to Beckham’s tattoo collection came in
early 2008, when she had another set of script added below her roman
numerals. However, no one has been able to definitively identify the new
artwork and Beckham has not explained it publicly.
All in all, Beckham’s tattoos clearly show her love and devotion to her
husband and family. The meaning behind each of her body artwork
selections honors their place in her heart, and it is commendable to see
